It's really scary when an individual is biased towards something.

Say that I'm biased towards Mr. Marsupilami. (You can imagine Mr. Marsupilami as anything; name it a window-washer, a pastry chef, a trash picker, anything).

To me, being biased is perceiving something as if it is perfect, when in reality, it's not. So that means that in my eyes, Mr. Marsupilami is perfect. When in reality, he is just a human being just like me, a human being that can do what he should not have done and say what he should not have said.

Because I'm biased towards Mr. Marsupilami, whatever he does, whatever he says, is right--to me. Let me tell you a short story about my biasing to Mr. Marsupilami.

---

One day, Mr. Marsupilami and I bought a cone of ice cream for ourselves at an ice cream stand. And then, seeing the pink color on top of Mr. Marsupilami's cone, my brother (let's just pretend that I have a brother) is tempted to have some. Since Mr. Marsupilami is about 180 cm and my brother's only 120 cm, he jumped for his temptation. But Mr. Marsupilami wouldn't share, because... well, just because.

If I were a good sister I'd politely ask Mr. Marsupilami to share his strawberry ice cream with my brother. But since I am biased to him thus making me forget for a split second that the one jumping for sweet pink goodness is my brother, I let it be. I say to the little kid, "Hey! Cut it out, if he does not want to share, then he doesn't, OK?"

Mr. Marsupilami just nods at what I say, and continues eating.

And then, suddenly, perhaps because of the harsh responses, my brother burst into tears.

"HWAAA! I JUST WANT SOME OF HIS ICE CREAM IS IT EVEN WRONG AND YOU KNOW HOW I'M JUST LITTLE AND WANT SWEETNESS IN MY LIFE WAAA!!!"

And then Mr. Marsupilami, (maybe out of reflexes) said, "SHUT THE *beep* OUT YOU *beep* *beep* *beep* *beep*!"

And because I'm biased to Mr. Marsupilami, I'd also go, "YEAH YOU, SHUT THE *beep* YOU NASTY LITTLE *beep* MR. MARSUPILAMI IS ALWAYS RIGHT, YEAH!"

After that we continued eating and left the kid crying on his own.

OK. Conclusions???

Being biased is the state of seeing something as perfect when it's not. When we see something as perfect, to us, it's always right. Because the thing that we're biased to is always right, other things are always wrong. When in reality, what we are biased of can be wrong, and others can be right.

In conclusion, don't be biased, because when in the state of being biased, we cannot see what is wrong and what is right. And that is, scary.

(PS: I'm very sorry for repetitions that are unnecessary in this very post. I was a bit doozey at the time I wrote this.)
